Imagination is serious business.
We all tell a story with our lives. What story are you telling?
As a graphic designer, illustrator, and photographer, I am constantly chasing after images and iconography that excite the mind. Visual art provides us with an opportunity to pause and be present with beauty. When done well, it allows the viewer to rest, to ruminate, to recontextualize, and to revitalize. It is my aim to create content that offers this sort of repose — a window through which one might reframe their reality and step into new insights about the best within themselves and the world around them.
As a sound designer, SFX editor, recording engineer, and musician, I believe deeply in the essential nature of audio in telling stories and creating worlds. Sound is the vehicle that can invite us into the recognizable rooms of provincial tales or transport us to the distant landscapes of the most far-fetched fictions. Whether paired with visual media or operating alone, auditory art provides that which appeals to the deepest parts of our humanity. It literally moves us.
The responsibility of crafting these experiences can’t be taken lightly. So with all of these attitudes in mind — regardless of whether I’m drafting a simple logo, crafting a fifteen second musical sting, devising an entire brand identity, or fashioning a feature-length film foray — I always endeavor to build not simply a source of entertainment with my work but rather an engrossing tapestry of sensory stimuli that will draw an audience fully into a fresh reality.
Having amassed 7+ years of audio industry experience, I’ve learned and continue to utilize the tools and theory necessary to carefully craft the sonic vision for a variety of projects and teams. Whether I’m writing an original score, twiddling knobs on a synthesizer, poring over the minutia of an SFX session, or behind a console mixing in surround, I am keenly aware of how my work fits into the bigger picture. In all my pursuits, I work diligently to communicate ideas clearly and effectively, receive and implement feedback discerningly, and deliver
well organized,
high quality
work on time every time.
My professional acumen when working in visual media is much the same. I’ve honed my handiwork and my eye for composition, line, and form across an entire lifetime, and I’ve spent the better part of the last decade taking on a wide variety of projects. I've studied in depth the history of what's come before, and I've paid close attention as the landscape of the art world has morphed within my own time. I say all of that to say this: I know what it takes to make a mark worth leaving, and I know how to operate with the appropriate amount of diligence, boldness, and candor to do so.
